General medicine and pharmacy freshmen are expected to attend workshops and lectures on orientation days

19 August 2021

The Medical School and the Faculty of Pharmacy are expecting their first-year Hungarian and foreign students to come to the orientation days on 30 August and 2 September. This year, the events are planned to be held in person.

The two-day program organized by the University of Pécs Medical School and Faculty of Pharmacy begins on 30 August for students of the English and Hungarian programs of the Faculty of Pharmacy, students of the German program of general medicine and dentistry, as well as students of the English program of general medicine, dentistry, and biotechnology.

On 2 September, general medicine and dentistry students starting their studies in the Hungarian program are welcome to attend. There will also be optional programs on both days, to which the organizers welcome the freshmen.

Attendance at the programs presenting the most important information is obligatory (e.g., the Registrar’s Office’s information on enrolment, beginning of the semester, the presentations of the Hungarian, English and German Admissions and Student Service Offices, and the student councils). Students will be able to enter the lecture halls in shifts.

Optional programs include a variety of lectures and workshops to help freshmen manage university life. There will also be several exhibition stands where students can get acquainted with the other organizational units, programs and services of the faculties and the university, as well as external organizations.

In addition, first-year students will have the opportunity to visit the MediSkillsLab Simulation Education Center, which is of high standards both nationally and internationally. Some sections of the event are subject to pre-registration or are limited in the number of participants, therefore it is advisable to register for them as soon as possible.

It is a great pleasure for the organizers to be able to hold the orientation days in person this year, based on the regulations currently in force. If the subsequent epidemiological situation and legal regulations provide otherwise, they are prepared for it as well. In this case, the event will be held online, like last year.
