Comprehensive smoking ban at the campus

29 March 2012

Dear Students,

Legislation banning smoking in public places came into force on January 1, 2012. The new law affects enclosed public places and premises, such as work places, restaurants, bars, means of public transport, bus stops, etc.
The Medical School is fully committed to the smoking ban and has responsibility for supervising and inspecting no smoking premises.
The smoking ban’s grace period ends on 31 March 2012. From 1 April individuals breaking the law can face a fixed penalty fine of 50.000 HUF, whereas institutions can face penalty fines up to 2.5 million HUF.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
