More than 3,500 students from nearly 70 countries are currently studying in the Hungarian, English, and German programs at the long-established Medical School in Pécs. The Medical School has 19 theoretical departments, 29 clinics, more than 5,000 doctors, researchers and specialists, 74 academic doctors and 5 academicians.
In addition to our General Medicine and Dentistry training, we also offer a master’s program in biotechnology, PhD courses and specialist medical training for our students and graduates in 33 specialised fields.

Our lecturers and researchers are internationally recognised authorities, participating in numerous research programmes around the world, thus our students benefit from their results in small-group education. We are working along a radically new learning-teaching philosophy, using a variety of methodologies to ensure that the Medical School in Pécs does not merely follow the 21st century’s development in higher education, but is at the forefront of it, providing its students with an internationally recognised degree.
We welcome our prospective students in a renewed infrastructural environment, in a 12,000 square metre theoretical block, with state-of-the-art teaching facilities, quality community spaces and surrounded by an open university park, all designed to meet 21st century requirements. Training will also be supported by the new Preclinical Research Laboratory and the new dental block, which will be open to dental students in the 2022/2023 academic year. As part of the complex campus reconstruction, our historic building and its surroundings will also undergo an interior and exterior rebirth.
