Dr. András Fittler is the new dean of the University of Pécs Faculty of Pharmacy

Dr. Attila Miseta rector has appointed Dr. András Fittler university docent as dean of the University of Pécs Faculty of Pharmacy, effective 1 October, 2023. The faculty council supported his application on the 6 September meeting with a unanimous vote of 17 yeses.

The new dean graduated from the Semmelweis University Faculty of Pharmacy in 2005. He gained his PhD in 2010, and habilitated in 2016. He has certifications in pharmaceutical supply pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and as a pharmaceutical care specialist. He got a degree in quality control system management in 2019, and in business coaching in 2022.

He has been an educator at the UP since 2007, a docent in the UP FP Department of Pharmaceutics since 2016, and head of department of the Department of Pharmaceutics since 2023. He has been a member of the directorate of the Hungarian Chamber of Pharmacists since 2012.

His achievements: UP Innovation Award, special award (2018), Antal Végh Award (2014), Patronus Alumnorum Pharmaciae and Pro Praxis Pharmaciae award (2011).

Dr. András Fittler emphasized about the future of the faculty: “At the University of Pécs Faculty of Pharmacy we cooperate, improve and develop in research and organisational work, in order to find fulfilment in our profession. There is a trifold system of requirements for medication: quality, efficacy and safety. In creating the environment along these guidelines at the faculty, creating safety lies in the wellbeing, motivation and financial stability of students and employees.
