Awards and appointments at the UP Faculty of Pharmacy

In celebration of March 15, the University of Pécs held its Honorary Doctorate Awarding Ceremony and Festive Senate Meeting, where newly appointed university professors were inaugurated. During the event, honorary university professor and associate professor titles, as well as professor emeritus and emerita distinctions, were awarded, and honorary doctorate titles were conferred. The prestigious event took place in the Dr. Halasy-Nagy József Aula of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs.

Regarding the Faculty of Pharmacy, the following recognitions were granted:

  • Dr. Krisztián Kvell, Vice Dean for General Affairs, Science, and Innovation of the Faculty, as well as the Deputy Director of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, received his professorial appointment and ceremonially donned his academic gown.
  • Dr. István Télessy, honorary associate professor at the Medical School, University of Szeged was awarded the honorary university professor title and received a silver pin adorned with the university’s emblem.
  • Dr. András Süle, chief pharmacist at the Péterfy Sándor Street Hospital-Clinic in Budapest, was recognized as an honorary university associate professor and was also presented with a silver pin featuring the university’s emblem.

During the ceremony, Dr. Attila Miseta, Rector of the University of Pécs, emphasized that the newly appointed professors and honorary faculty members are not only leading figures in their respective fields but also play a crucial role in the university’s educational and research activities. He highlighted that the responsibilities of university professors extend beyond merely imparting knowledge—they are tasked with fostering students’ critical thinking and enhancing their ability to structure and synthesize information.

These recognitions reaffirm the Faculty of Pharmacy’s commitment to academic and scientific excellence and contribute to the university’s continued development and recognition within both the national and international professional community.
