Prestigious full professorship appointments at the Faculty of Pharmacy

Yesterday

The University of Pécs opened the 2026/2027 academic year with a ceremonial Senate meeting on 1 September, Hungarian Higher Education Day. The occasion marked an important milestone for the Faculty of Pharmacy: Dr András Fittler, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr Nóra Papp of the Department of Pharmacognosy received their appointments as full professors.

At the ceremonial Senate meeting marking the beginning of the academic year, Rector Adrián Fábián welcomed the university community. In his address, he reflected on the University’s historical legacy and emphasised the importance of a strong academic community and the ideas and intellectual achievements that emerge within it.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of full professorship appointments. Upon the recommendation of Hungary’s Minister for Education and Children’s Affairs, made in agreement with the University’s maintainer, the President of Hungary appointed twenty faculty members of the University of Pécs as full professors, effective from 1 September 2026.

Among those appointed were two members of the Faculty of Pharmacy:

Dr András Fittler, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and faculty member of the Department of Pharmacy, and

Dr Nóra Papp, faculty member of the Department of Pharmacognosy.

The two appointments represent significant professional recognition for the Faculty of Pharmacy and reflect the high standards of teaching and research pursued at the Faculty.

We congratulate Dr András Fittler and Dr Nóra Papp on their appointments as full professors and wish them continued success in their academic careers.
