Collab Project – A Student Paradise in the Attic

8 October 2024

The wait is over – the Collaboratory has officially opened! Thanks to the "Collab" project by the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Pécs, the top floor of the K Building has been transformed, and students are already enjoying the new space.

The Faculty places great emphasis on student well-being, which is essential for academic success. The Collaboratory serves not only as a study area but also as a social space where students can recharge and connect with each other.

The modern and cozy environment offers a variety of functions, whether for studying or relaxation. The concept was brought to life in collaboration with Dr. Norbert Vasváry-Nádor, an associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (MIK) at the University of Pécs, ensuring that every detail reflects the needs of the students. As previously mentioned, the space includes study rooms, a game room, a quiet area, and even a podcast studio.

One of the most popular spots is the artificial grass-covered "silent room." “We love chatting and relaxing here between lectures. Being able to take our shoes off makes it feel even more homely,” shared a group of third-year pharmacy students. The game room, equipped with ping-pong, darts, and foosball, is perfect for those looking to unwind.

“A bit of fun always helps alongside studying,” added a second-year pharmacy student. The study rooms, flooded with natural light, are also highly appreciated by students, providing an ideal environment for individual or group work.

“I especially love that this space is on the top floor, where there's plenty of natural light. It makes studying much better,” commented students.

The success of the project is reflected in student feedback, with the home-like atmosphere and modern design ensuring that everyone finds their ideal spot.
