On the afternoon of May 29th, an informal yet meaningful event took place in front of the "K" building of the Faculty of Pharmacy: the communal space was enriched with garden furniture, and staff members inaugurated the new relaxation area amidst fresh fruits and informal conversations.
The event had a dual purpose: to provide colleagues with a brief respite outdoors and to officially embrace the newly installed outdoor furniture, which will continue to serve staff and students in their relaxation. Scheduled for a sunny afternoon, the program also served as a community-building occasion – precisely the kind that is often scarce amidst the busy weekdays.
The initiative closely aligns with the strategic goals of the faculty. Supporting employee well-being and promoting health consciousness are key priorities, both prominently featured in Faculty of Pharmacy’s long-term strategy. Small gestures such as shaded benches, comfortable garden chairs, or a bowl of fruit convey the message that how we feel at the workplace – both physically and mentally – matters.
Looking ahead, the faculty leadership aims to expand and sustain these community events. Alongside further developments of the outdoor relaxation area, regular fruit days are planned – smaller events that seamlessly integrate into employees' days and contribute to a more health-conscious and humane workplace culture.
The garden inauguration and fruitful afternoon symbolized both the dedication to a new communal space and the continuation of an existing mindset: one where the workplace environment supports relaxation and rejuvenation alongside work duties.
