Training for Teaching Pharmacists at the University of Pécs Faculty of Pharmacy

Yesterday

As part of its anniversary year, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Pécs successfully organized the two-day training program titled “Professional Development Training for Teaching Pharmacists at Key Practice Training Sites.”

The aim of the program was to provide up-to-date, practice-oriented knowledge that can be directly applied in everyday work for teaching pharmacists involved in practical training. The training focused on both current professional topics in pharmacy and the development of key competencies required in the profession.

Practice-oriented knowledge and current professional topics

During the afternoon session of the first day, participants attended lectures on biotechnological medicines, pharmacy marketing, and communication. The second day focused on skills development and strengthening leadership competencies

Throughout the two-day program, particular emphasis was placed on knowledge and practical perspectives that can be directly applied in daily pharmacy practice, especially in the areas of communication, customer orientation, and change management.

The key role of practice training sites

For the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Pécs, maintaining close and continuous cooperation with practice training sites is of strategic importance. These institutions play an indispensable role in preparing pharmacy students in a real professional environment.

Experience gained in teaching pharmacies and other practical training sites directly contributes to students’ professional development, the formation of their professional identity as pharmacists, and the strengthening of competencies required for patient care and pharmaceutical compounding activities.

Shared learning, shared responsibility

The training program not only provided an opportunity to transfer new knowledge but also created space for inspiring professional dialogue and the exchange of experience. Such occasions support organizational learning, the sharing of best practices, and the further strengthening of partnerships between the university and its practice training sites.

Acknowledgement and future goals

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the teaching pharmacies and practice training sites for their committed cooperation and dedicated work in supporting the University. Their contribution is essential in ensuring that our students receive high-quality, practice-oriented education that meets the current and future expectations of the profession.

The Faculty remains committed to organizing similar professional training opportunities in the future, thereby supporting the continuous development of professionals involved in practical training and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the professional standards of pharmaceutical care in Hungary.
